Basketball and Love, the same thing, right?

Unlike when most people first meet, there were fireworks when Jason and Diane met. Of course, they were emitted from the Thomas and Mack center, but, hey, they were fireworks nonetheless. It just so happened that the two had many mutual friends. These friends sat by each other at the basketball games, and bam, Jason and Diane were thrown into each other's lives. They sat by each other at every basketball game of the season, and after a few games, they actually began to notice one another.

After that, Jason and Diane just kept running into each other. Mainly because Diane worked at the gym on campus and Jason worked out at the gym on campus. Soon, Jason was staying at the gym longer than usual and Diane was placing herself at the front desk around the time she knew Jason would be coming by. They would sit and talk, but neither asked for a phone number. Finally, New Year's Eve came along. Diane, determined to get a New Year's kiss, sent her number to Jason via the world wide web. Jason was ecstatic to receive the number, and called her almost immediately. However, their paths never crossed that night. Then, the texting began. Slowly, through text messaging, Jason found out that Diane was not your run of the mill basketball fan, she actually knew a thing or two about life. Diane found out that Jason was really a real boy who had a plan for his life. (She had never met one of those before.) Finally they made plans to meet up.

The First Date:

The day for Jason and Diane's date arrived and Jason was dying. Literally. He called his mother and she took him to the doctor. He was informed he had severe acid reflux and he needed to change his diet. As his mom dropped him off, she suggested he cancel his date. He looked at her and said, "No mom. You don't understand, I have to go on this date." So he went. They went to a little Thai restaurant. Jason had to leave the table, and the restaurant, about three to four times. Diane ate alone while Jason sat and listened to her talk, at least, when he was at the table too. Diane ate quickly so that Jason could get home and get to bed. When she got home, her parents asked how it went. She smiled real big and said, "I think it was one of the worst first dates I have ever been on, but oddly enough I really enjoyed myself and I can't wait to see him again!"

After the first date, both Jason and Diane were confused as to whether or not they were actually dating, or just spending alot of time alone together. They attempted to watch movies, but would only end up talking through them; including the three hours of The Patriot. Finally, on the sixth date, they went to the movies with another couple. In the middle of the movie, Jason told Diane to stop being difficult. She looked at him, put her hand in his, and asked if that was better. It was. The seventh date, the two stood at the Bellagio fountains with their arms around each other, and they finally figured it all out. The rest, as they say, is history.
